The first Saturday of June brings a special event to Vincennes—Jesus Day. Originating in Britain in the 1980s, the concept of Jesus Day was designed to bring church experiences outside and into the streets. Now, it’s an annual tradition in Knox County.
This year’s celebration will take place Saturday, June 7th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Gregg Park. Pchelsie Tidor, Vice President of Jesus Day, explained that the event is a community gathering of local churches, offering free activities and celebrating Jesus through food, preaching, games, face painting, and more. The theme for this year is “The King is Coming,” and the event aims to welcome those who are unfamiliar with Jesus, while celebrating with those who already know Him.
With no cost to attend, the day will be filled with opportunities to connect and learn. For those interested in food, local food trucks will be available for purchase.
