A cold case dating back more than three decades has led to an arrest in Gibson County. Indiana State Police and the FBI arrested 61-year-old Timothy Farber of Evansville on Tuesday for the murder of Norman Ellerbrook in 1993.

Ellerbrook, who was 63, was found dead at the bottom of his basement stairs with blunt force trauma and multiple stab wounds. Despite years of investigation, the case remained unsolved until DNA evidence recently identified Farber as a suspect.

Police say he was arrested without incident near Fulton Avenue in Evansville and is now in the Gibson County Jail held without bond.

Authorities say no additional information will be released at this time.
