The Indiana Department of Transportation announces they will close a portion of State Road 441 or Vigo Street in Vincennes beginning Friday.

The closure affects the stretch between 2nd Street and 6th Street and is expected to last about a week, weather permitting. Crews will be performing milling and pavement work during that time.

City officials say the Memorial Bridge will be accessible via 2nd Street.

INDOT reminds motorists to slow down and use caution in all work zones.

Meanwhile the planned closure of State Road 61 for a pipe replacement project in Verne has been postponed.  The closure was set to start today between Hickory Corner Road and South Robinson Road but will now take place later this year.

A new date for the project has not yet been announced.
