A new leader has been named for the Vincennes University Jasper Campus.

Starting Monday, Adam Watkins will be the Assistant Vice President and Dean, following a national search.

VU President Dr. Chuck Johnson called Watkins a proven leader with a strong commitment to student success and academic excellence.

Watkins most recently served as Dean of Arts and Communication at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Illinois. He’s also taught at several colleges across the region and was named Missouri’s Community College Professor of the Year in 2017.

In a statement, Watkins said his first priority is to listen to students, faculty, staff, and partners and to build on the campus’s strong foundation.

University officials also thanked Stephanie Stemle for serving as interim dean over the past year.
