The inaugural Wabash River Palooza music festival has made its first charitable donation. Organizers presented a $300 check Wednesday to the Evan Twitty Scholarship Foundation at Vincennes University.
Chris Hussey, who helped launch the event, made the presentation at Kimmel Park — the same location where the festival took place on Saturday. He credited the support of VU Police, campus security, and festivalgoers for helping make the first year a success.
“It was a great turnout,” Hussey said. “I’ve had an outpour of people from the community asking when the 2026 date is. So we’re gonna push forward again.”
Hussey says the 2026 festival date will be announced in September.
The event supports local music and honors the memory of Evan Twitty, a VU student and talented musician who died in 2020.
