Two visitors from Wasserburg, Germany, have been named honorary citizens of Vincennes.Lisa Herzog and Mailien Sommer received proclamations and pins from Mayor Joe Yochum and City Council President Brian Grove during Monday night’s council meeting.

They’re staying with Robin Lewis, whose family began hosting exchange students from Wasserburg nearly three decades ago. This visit marks the start of a second generation making the trip.

During their stay, the girls will attend classes at Lincoln High School, take in their first Friday night football game, and travel to several U.S. cities, including St. Louis and Nashville.
