A traffic stop in Knox County led to a drug arrest late Wednesday night.
The Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a red 2000 Ford truck around 9:18 p.m. at State Road 550 and Wheatland Road for having no rear taillights. The driver, 53-year-old Charles Hayes of Vincennes, told the deputy he did not know the lights were out.
A K-9 unit was brought to the scene and indicated the presence of illegal drugs. A search of the truck turned up a rubber container holding a light-colored chalky substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.
Hayes was booked into the Knox County Jail on a charge of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony. He was released after posting a $5,000 bond.
