Knox County deputies arrested a man Tuesday afternoon after a traffic stop on State Road 67 led to drug charges.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, a deputy clocked a silver Chevrolet Monte Carlo at 89 miles per hour around 3 p.m. near McCormick Road. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Dustin Kemp, allegedly gave a false name and birth date when stopped.

A K-9 unit was brought to the scene and signaled the presence of narcotics. Deputies say they found a THC smoking device along with two glass pipes containing residue that later tested positive for methamphetamine.

Kemp was taken to the Knox County Jail.

He faces multiple charges including possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, reckless driving, false reporting, and driving while suspended with a prior conviction.
