Organizers of recent events in Vincennes are reporting high turnout and praising organizations and city departments for making them possible.

Knox County’s Recover Out Loud celebration drew 344 adults and 76 children. Families, friends, and neighbors came together to celebrate recovery and connection, with food,  music and testimonies from local speakers. Mayor Joe Yochum proclaimed September as Recovery Month in Vincennes.  Recover Out Loud’s “Rooted in Recovery” was held Saturday at Gregg Park.

At Monday night’s city council meeting, Vincennes City Council President Brian Grove reported strong attendance at the Bandshell Bash which took place Saturday September 13th also at Gregg Park. Area musical artists gathered to perform on two stages for the crowds.  Grove said food trucks estimated serving about 2,000 people during the event. He credited the Vincennes Park and Rec Department for working throughout the day to keep the area clean and facilities stocked.
