The Vincennes Animal Shelter has been awarded a five-thousand-dollar grant from Petco Love to support its work with local dogs and cats. Petco Love is a national nonprofit organization that has been investing in adoption and animal care programs for more than 25 years. Since its founding, the group has invested nearly four hundred twenty-five million dollars nationwide and has helped more than seven million pets find forever homes.
Shelter Director Leah Reagan says the new funding is important because it directly supports their ability to provide care and continue their work finding homes for animals. She says the shelter is striving to save as many lives as possible and this investment helps ensure they can keep doing that for the community.
Petco Love says the Vincennes award is one of many recent grants, totaling more than twelve million dollars, to help shelters and adoption partners across the country.
