The City of Petersburg’s annual Buffalo Trace Festival kicks Thursday along Main Street.
A section of State Road 57 through downtown is already closed as crews prepare for the three-day event.
The festival begins Thursday at 4:30 when vendors open, followed by the carnival at 5 and the parade at 5:30. Opening ceremonies are set for 6.
Live music highlights the weekend. Thursday night features the Pike Central Swing Choir and The Duke Boys. Friday night brings Hometown Gold, Eighty-Sixt, and the Ultimate Garth Brooks Tribute. Saturday night closes with national country artists Meghan Patrick and Drake White.
Also Saturday morning, the Little Miss, Junior Miss, and Miss Buffalo Trace Pageants take place.
Vendors and carnival rides will run throughout the festival.
