The Vincennes Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs are again partnering to continue the Wreaths Across America program, honoring local veterans buried in Vincennes City Cemeteries.
The goal is to place a wreath at each of the roughly 3,500 veterans’ graves. Wreaths are $17 each and may be purchased by individuals or businesses. Volunteers are also being sought to help distribute wreaths on placement day, Saturday, December 13.
Order forms were included with August and October Vincennes Water bills and are available at the Water Department office at 403 Busseron Street and other locations. Orders can also be made online at wreathsacrossamerica.org or by calling 812-882-8860.
The deadline to order wreaths is November 20. Checks can be made payable to Wreaths for Knox County and mailed to P.O. Box 272, Vincennes.
This year marks the ninth year of the local Wreaths Across America effort. Organizers say the goal remains to ensure every veteran’s grave has a remembrance wreath during the holidays.
