The Vincennes Community School Corporation has added a new officer to its school police department.
Aaron Morris has been hired as a School Resource Officer and was sworn in at Monday’s Vincennes Community School Board meeting. Morris brings more than a decade of law enforcement experience, including time as a Correctional Officer and later a Merit Deputy with the Knox County Sheriff’s Department. During his service, he served on the SWAT Team, worked as a detective, trained officers as a field training instructor, and earned multiple specialized certifications. He was also recognized with the Distinguished Service Award and a Heart Saver Hero Award.
After briefly stepping away from law enforcement to work in the insurance field, Morris expressed a desire to return to public service. School officials say his experience, training, and commitment to building relationships with students and staff will be a strong asset to the Vincennes Community School Police Department.
