The Indiana State Police have arrested a Kentucky man following an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct with a minor.

According to the Putnamville District, troopers opened a criminal investigation on September 15 after receiving information from the Sullivan County Department of Child Services. Investigators say the case involved allegations that 30-year-old Vernon T. Brown of Olive Hill, Kentucky, engaged in sexual misconduct with a minor under the age of 16 in Sullivan County.

Following a review of the case, Sullivan County Prosecutor Ann Smith-Mischler requested an arrest warrant, which was approved by Sullivan County Circuit Court on November 21. Troopers arrested Brown Tuesday afternoon without incident.

He is being held in the Sullivan County Jail without bond.
