The Pike County Chamber of Commerce is hosting its first ever Opportunity Fair on Thursday, December 11th, from 8:30 in the morning until 6 at Hornady Park.
It’s a come-and-go event designed to help students, young adults, and job-seekers connect with training programs and local employers. Representatives from the National Guard, Army, Navy, Air Force, and several trade unions will be on hand, along with training programs like Tri-State CDL, Vincennes Beauty College, Universal Technical Institute, and Ivy Tech.
More participants are expected, including additional trade unions, manufacturers, health systems, and other employers.
Visitors can browse local job openings, get help with applications, and pick up interview tips. Organizers say the goal is to give people hands-on access to career paths they may not have explored before.
The event is free and open to all area students, parents, and community members.
