Vincennes University students, faculty, and staff took part in several holiday service projects across the region this month.

The university’s Christmas Families Project provided gifts and basic items to 95 children and 51 families from all six schools in the Vincennes Community School Corporation.

On campus, a food and coat drive held December 19th and 20th collected donations for Sandy’s Pantry, which helps students facing food insecurity and other basic needs.

A toy drive during a December 8th basketball doubleheader supported the university’s Toys for Tots effort.

Volunteers also assembled care baskets with household essentials for older adults and people with disabilities served by Area 13 Agency on Aging across six counties.

And ahead of Thanksgiving, students raised money for Helping His Hands by selling handmade bowls filled with soup, with proceeds supporting the Vincennes food pantry.
