Vincennes University Steps In During Military Tuition Delay

Vincennes University stepped in last fall to help military students continue classes during a temporary delay in federal tuition assistance.

The delay affected active-duty students nationwide between October first and November twelfth.

During that time, the university used institutional scholarship funds to cover tuition costs, totaling just over twenty-nine thousand dollars.

David Tucker, Vice President for Workforce Development and Community Services, says the goal was to avoid disruptions and keep students moving toward their degrees.

He says when funding delays happen, the priority is making sure students can stay enrolled and focused on coursework.

According to the university, twenty-two military students in multiple states were impacted during the fall semester.

Army Sergeant Sky Landry says the tuition coverage helped her stay motivated and confirmed she made the right choice to attend Vincennes University.

The federal tuition assistance delay has since been resolved, and funding has returned to normal.
