KNOX COUNTY TRAVEL STATUS UPDATE 🚧

  • 🟠 Travel Status: ORANGE – WATCH
Effective today at noon, Knox County, Indiana has been moved down to an Orange (Watch) travel status.
This means conditions have improved enough to reduce restrictions; however, hazardous winter conditions remain across the county.
⚠️ Important Reminder to the Public:
Even with the reduced travel status:
❄️ Snow and ice remain on many roadways
🌬️ Wind continues to cause drifting and reduced visibility
🧊 Cold temperatures will keep icy conditions in place
🚗 Road conditions may change quickly for several days
🟠 Orange (Watch) Travel Status means:
Only essential travel is recommended. Residents should continue to use caution, plan ahead, and limit unnecessary trips.
🗣️ Message from EMA Director Streeter:
“As we continue through this extreme winter weather event, I ask everyone to help look after your friends, family, and neighbors—especially the elderly, those with medical needs, and anyone who may be isolated by road conditions or power concerns. A quick check or helping hand can make a real difference.”
Public safety remains the priority.
Emergency services, highway departments, utilities, and public safety agencies will continue monitoring conditions and coordinating response operations countywide.
Please continue to:
✔️ Drive cautiously and slow down
✔️ Allow extra travel time
✔️ Monitor official updates
