
A Dense Fog Advisory was in effect this morning across the region.
The National Weather Service reported visibility down to a quarter mile or less in some areas.
Some schools were delayed two hours. Many schools were not in session observing President’s Day.
Drivers are reminded to turn on their headlights in fog and use the low-beam setting.
Indiana State Police say a motorist in the Evansville District was stopped after driving without headlights in an area where visibility was under one hundred feet.Sergeant Todd Ringle says the driver told the trooper the headlights were set to automatic.
Police say in foggy conditions headlights should be turned on manually, and drivers should slow down and leave extra distance between vehicles.
