Knox County Indiana Economic Development is expanding its Opportunity Knox outreach campaign with new advertising aimed at workers outside the state.

The effort includes billboards in Illinois and print and digital advertising in Site Selection magazine, a national publication focused on business location and development.

KCIED CEO Chris Pfaff said about 1,500 people travel from Illinois to jobs in Knox County each day, and the billboard campaign is directed at those commuters.

Pfaff said the advertising also points to manufacturing and logistics activity in Knox County, housing development, and the role of Vincennes University in workforce and business growth.

KCIED Director of Business and Workforce Development Mary Jo Wallin-Orlowski said the county is also in contact with prospective residents through the MakeMyMove relocation program.

According to KCIED, the expanded outreach comes as Bierhaus Flats, a mixed-use apartment development in Vincennes, has begun pre-lease operations ahead of a planned June move-in.
