Ascension St. Vincent and Vincennes University have launched a new training program aimed at addressing healthcare workforce needs in the region.
The two organizations are partnering on a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) hybrid program, with the first 15-week cohort beginning this week.
The program combines online coursework with hands-on clinical training to prepare participants for careers in healthcare. The hybrid format is designed to provide flexibility while also offering real-world experience in a clinical setting.
A Vincennes University instructor says the program brings together classroom education and on-the-job training to help participants build career pathways and increase earning potential.
The initial cohort is limited to current Ascension St. Vincent employees as part of internal workforce development efforts. Both organizations say they plan to expand the program in the future.
Ascension St. Vincent operates 19 hospitals across Indiana and employs more than 13,000 people statewide.
