Vincennes University is holding its sixth annual Blazers Give Day today, a 24-hour fundraising effort that began at midnight.
This year’s campaign is centered on the theme “Fuel the Legacy,” as the university also marks its 225th anniversary.
The effort supports student scholarships, academic programs, and other university needs. Donors can contribute to a general fund or designate gifts to specific colleges or programs.
Officials with the Vincennes University Foundation say the day is off to a strong start, highlighted by a 300-thousand dollar gift from Chris and Tom Ernst.
The donation will establish a Legacy Fund, an unrestricted endowment designed to support student needs and future university priorities.
Events are taking place throughout the day on the Vincennes campus and at the Jasper campus, along with opportunities to participate online.
The fundraiser continues through tonight, with additional information available on the university’s website.
The fundraiser runs through the end of the day. More information is available on the university’s website.
