The Lawrenceville Community Unit School District #20 Board of Education has approved two new principals for the 2026–27 school year.
The selections were made on Wednesday of this week for Lawrenceville High School and Parkview Junior High School.
Jennifer Dunn has been named principal of Lawrenceville High School. She is currently Assistant Director at the Darlington County Institute of Technology in South Carolina. Dunn has experience as a school counselor at multiple grade levels and attended Loyola University, Clemson University, and Anderson University.
Dunn said she is looking forward to returning to Illinois and working with students, families, and staff.
Chelsea Puckett has been named principal of Parkview Junior High School. She has taught chemistry and biomedical science at Richland County High School since 2011. She has also worked with the TRIO Upward Bound program, Illinois Eastern Community College, and an after-school program at East Richland Middle School. Puckett earned degrees from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Eastern Illinois University, and Indiana University.
Puckett said she is honored to be selected and plans to spend time in classrooms, attend school events, and connect with students, staff, and the community.
Superintendent Doug Daugherty said the candidates were selected following interviews. Board of Education President Reese Ivers said the district had concerns about finding qualified candidates and selected Dunn and Puckett after the interview process.
Both are scheduled to begin their new roles in July.
