Lawrence County Memorial Hospital has appointed Dr. Jacob Lennert as its new Chief Medical Officer.
Lennert will provide clinical leadership and oversight for the hospital while supporting its efforts to deliver care close to home. He joined the hospital in 2024 as a primary care physician and is board certified in family medicine.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University, received his medical degree from the University of Toledo, and completed his family medicine residency at the University of Florida.
In his new role, Lennert will work with hospital leadership, providers, and the Board of Directors to strengthen clinical programs, improve patient care processes, and support physician engagement.
“A strong physician leader is critical to the continued success of our hospital and the care we provide to our patients,” said Chief Executive Officer Amy Hurley. “As we prepare for our Epic implementation, physician leadership will be more important than ever to help support provider engagement, communication, workflow redesign, and adoption across the organization.”
Lennert said he is focused on the hospital’s future and maintaining quality care for the community.
“I am excited and passionate about the future of LCMH,” Lennert said. “Healthcare is dynamic, and our staff and administration are driven to bring the highest-quality patient care experience to Lawrence County.”
Lennert will continue seeing patients in his primary care practice. Hospital officials say the new role will not impact patient access or his availability for appointments.
