An example of what not to do during National Work Zone Awareness Week was reported Thursday in Daviess County.

The incident happened Thursday afternoon on U.S. 50, where a vehicle struck an Indiana Department of Transportation attenuator.

Reports say the driver was using a phone at the time of the crash. The driver was reported to have possible broken bones.

INDOT says all crew members working in the area were not hurt.

The crash comes during National Work Zone Awareness Week, as transportation officials continue to remind drivers to slow down and avoid distractions in work zones.

An attenuator is a device used in work zones to absorb impact and protect workers.
