The Knox County Parks Department has released their schedule of activities for the Spring, Summer and Fall.
The “Wild About Nature Series,” presented with Purdue Extension Knox County, includes five sessions running from May through September at locations across the county.
The first session is May 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ouabache Trails Nature Center. It focuses on native plants and includes a hands-on seed ball activity.
On June 18, an introduction to fishing will be held at Foxridge Nature Park, covering basic skills, rules, and regulations.
A program on identifying animal tracks is scheduled for July 23 at the Ouabache Trails Sacajawea Shelter, followed by a leaf identification and rubbing activity on August 6 along the Brittney Trail.
The series wraps up September 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Nature Center with a session on bird identification and a birdhouse activity.
Programs are open to participants 16 and under with an adult. Registration is required for individual sessions or the full series, either by scanning the provided QR codes or calling the Knox County Parks Department.
