Indiana farmers made solid planting progress for the weekend ending April 27th, thanks to warmer weather and improved field conditions. The USDA says 10% of corn and 10% of soybeans are now planted, both showing strong gains from the week before.
Winter wheat is 50% jointed and 4% headed, with 70% rated in good to excellent condition.
There were 4.8 days suitable for fieldwork, and soil moisture remains mostly adequate across the state.
Temperatures averaged above normal, while rainfall varied—ranging from light in the northeast to more than an inch and a half in parts of the southwest.
