Vincennes University has named Nyla Johnson as the sixth Head Coach in Lady Trailblazers Women’s Basketball history.
She will take over for interim coach Ingrida Hartsfield who took over last year following the retirement of Harry Meeks.
Johnson comes to VU after serving as an assistant at NCAA Division I Belmont, where she helped lead the Bruins to a 26-13 record and a deep postseason run in the inaugural Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament.
VU Athletics Director John Meeks praised Johnson’s vision for building a winning program that also connects with the community and supports student-athletes on and off the court.
Johnson called the job an honor and said she’s committed to upholding VU’s tradition of excellence.
