Submitting a grant application to help pay for renovations to the Gregg Park Bandshell moved another step forward Monday.
The Board of Public Works and Safety approved a bid from the Southern Indiana Development Commission to administer the grant application process.
SIDC was the only applicant to submit a bid for the work.
Last week, the Vincennes City Council approved a resolution allowing the city to pursue state funding for renovations to the Gregg Park Bandshell. That action cleared the way for a grant application that, if approved, would help refurbish the nearly 90-year-old structure.
City officials are also asking residents to complete a brief survey to help guide the application. The survey asks which parks residents use, what amenities they rely on, whether they attend Bandshell events, and whether they view the Bandshell as a historically significant landmark. It also asks if residents would attend events at an updated outdoor venue.
