Good Samaritan Hospital is hosting a drug take back day today from 4 to 7.

Hospital staff will collect unwanted or expired medications at the Sixth Street entrance under the awning.

According to Good Samaritan, the pharmacy team will accept vitamins, prescription medications including Schedule Two through Five controlled and non-controlled substances, prescription patches, prescription ointments, pet medications, and over-the-counter medications.

Items that will not be accepted include needles, inhalers, thermometers, aerosol cans, lotions, liquids, and hydrogen peroxide.

Heather McKinley, Good Samaritan Pharmacy Staff Development Supervisor, says the event gives people a place to safely dispose of unwanted medications from their homes.
