Some local organizations have made donations to support the Vincennes Police Department.

The Vincennes Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1157 donated $1,500 to the department’s K-9 Fund. Police say the money will help cover training, care, and equipment expenses for the K-9 program.

VFW Commander Tedd Cooper presented the donation to Lieutenant Michael Caswell alongside K-9 Boca.

The Vincennes Moose Lodge 281 also donated $2,000 to assist with the purchase of departmental equipment and resources used by officers.

In addition to the monetary donation, the Moose Lodge provided stuffed moose plush animals for officers to carry in patrol vehicles. The department says the stuffed animals can be given to children during traumatic or difficult situations to help provide comfort and reassurance.

The Vincennes Police Department thanked both organizations for their continued support and community involvement.
