It’s the Battle of the Badges over a Red Kettle today.

The Vincennes City Police and Fire Departments are facing off to see which department can raise the most funds for the local Salvation Army.

Department officers and members will be at the Vincennes Wal Mart today ringing the bell in an effort to help raise the Vincennes Salvation Army Corps goal of $55,000 by December 23rd.

The battle runs from 10 to 8 today.

Donations are down so far this season with less than $8,000 raised as of Thursday.

Volunteers who want to ring bells this season can can sign up at registertoring.com.
