A historic start to the new year in Vincennes.

There was a full house Tuesday at Vincennes City Hall to witness Joe Yochum be sworn in for a 4th term as Mayor of Vincennes.

It’s the first time in the city’s history a Mayor has been elected 4 consecutive times.

He says it was an exciting day…

In addition, the city clerk treasurer and the newly elected city council took their oaths of office.

The council has two new faces and and Yochum is looking forward to working with them and the 5 returning council members.

The Mayor mentioned several ongoing endeavors in the new year including the Washington Avenue Project, the opening of a new teen center and working on improvements to transportation and childcare.
