Today is the first day for election candidates can file to run for office.

There are several local county offices on the ballot this year including 3 Knox County Council At Large Seats, Knox County Commissioners in Districts 1 and 2  as well as the Knox County Treasurer and Coroner.

Some Knox County voters will also be voting for State Representative in House Districts 45 and 64.

Indiana Governor, US Senator for Indiana and US House District 8 are also on the ballot.

That’s all in addition to the national Presidential race.

Primary election day is May 7th.

Forms for candidacy for local office are available in the Knox County Clerk’s office

Candidate filing is now through February 9th.

Coming up in November there are several at large school board seats on the ballot.

Candidates won’t starting filing to run for those positions until May.
