So far in Knox County, there are no Democrats on the local ballot.

This Friday, February 9th, is the filing deadline for candidates who want to run for public office in the May 7th Primary Election.

In a Primary, voters choose a Republican or Democrat ballot and then vote for who they want to be on the November General Election ballot.

There are several contested Republican races for GOP party members to vote for.

For County Commissioner in District 1, incumbent TJ Brink is facing a challenge from Cher Wehrman.

For County Commissioner in District 2 the Republican candidates are Tim Ellerman and Pamela Hazel.

As of Monday morning, incumbent Trent Hinkle had not filed to run.

There are six Republicans running for County Council at Large.  including current office holder Dan Reitmeyer.

Other candidates are Brett Dawson, Deaton Grove, Jon Hillenbrand, Michial Jacob and Kevin Meyer.

The other County Council At Large member, Harry Nolting, had not filed to run again as of Monday morning.
