Police in Gibson County have released details of a Sunday incident involving a firearm near Owensville.

Authorities were called to the  7900 block of South 1100 West where there was a report of someone breaking into a residence.

47-year-old Timothy Dowden of Owensville was said to be shooting a gun in a yard and then had gone inside his residence.

When officers arrived a short standoff ensued during which time 36-year-old Brittany Marginet arrived on scene.   She was said to be living with Dowdy.

Not long after Dowdy came out and was arrested.

Marginet was found to have been driving an off road vehicle while allegedly intoxicated and was also arrested.

Dowdy was charged with:

  • Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon
    Battery
  • Intimidation
  • Possession of a firearm by a domestic battery
  • Residential Entry
  • Criminal Mischief

Marginet was jailed for:

  • Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated
  • Neglect of a Dependent
