Whenever an emergency occurs sometimes the crisis requires temporary shelter.

The help that need, Duke Energy Foundation has awarded $11,000 to the Knox County Emergency Management Agency.

Those funds will be used to purchase emergency, temporary shelter cots and amenities for those that may be displaced during crisis situations.

The money was recently accepted from Duke Energy’s Kurt Phegley by Knox County EMA Director John Streeter, and EMA Deputy Director Renee Schopmeyer.
