A non profit is the newest member of the Knox County Chamber of Commerce.

A ribbon cutting held Wednesday at the monthly Chamber lunch welcomed the National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) to the region.

NYAP  is a leading foster care organization that works in collaboration with the Indiana Department of Child Services.

They are opening two new offices in Indiana, one in Evansville and another in Terre Haute.

Development Manager, Laura Stone, says their services include supporting those who embark on a journey to become a foster parent.

She says they provide  24/7 phone and in-person support, wrap around services, case management and advocacy to ensure foster parents are providing safe and stable homes where traumatized youth can heal.

NYAP is a national organization with locations in 12 states.

With the new offices in Vigo and Vanderburgh Counties, there are now 11 offices throughout Indiana.
