Primary lection Day is less than one month away and those registered to vote can vote absentee now through May 6th.

In the primary, voters choose a Democrat or Republican ballot and vote for whom they want to see move on to the General Election in November.

In Knox County there are no locally contested Democratic races but there are several running on the Republican ticket.

Those include a two person race for County Commissioner in District 1 and a three person race for Knox County Commissioner in District 2.

And seven local Republicans are running for three County Council At-Large seats.

There is also a contested race for Knox County Coroner on the GOP ticket and some contested races for precinct committeeman.

Early voting hours in Knox County are Monday through Friday from 8-am to 4-pm at the old jail sally port on 8th Street in Vincennes.

Early voting will be available on Saturday April 27th and Saturday April 4th in Bicknell and Monroe City for residents in those areas.
