Governor Holcomb is putting $10 million into new personal protective equipment for volunteer firefighters in the state.

Many communities in the state have just volunteer firefighters operating with dilapidated equipment, and some of that is over a decade old. Holcomb’s 2023 Next Level Agenda allocated nearly $18 million for firefighters to get new PPE and training facilities across the state. The $10 million ill purchase 940 complete sets of PPE and self-contained breathing apparatuses to benefit 66 fire departments in every Indiana fire district.
