An attempt to serve an arrest warrant turned into a drug investigation.

Gibson County authorities say they went to a rural residence near Somerville to serve a warrant on 61-year-old John R. Houchins of Oakland City.

Upon arriving, he and 20-year-old Savanna Whitehead of Princeton were arrested after meth and drug paraphernalia were seen in plain view.

Upon investigation over 11 grams of meth was located in the camper where the couple was staying on the property.

Both are charged with Possession of Meth, Marijuana and Paraphernalia and Houchins was also being held on the Failure to Appear warrant.

The incident took place at 7:13-pm Central Time on Tuesday.
