A Knox County native is gaining hands-on experience at the Indiana Statehouse.
Kyla Wolfe, a graduate of North Knox High School, is serving as a legislative intern with State Representative Bruce Borders and other members of the Indiana House during the 2025 session.
Wolfe is the daughter of Heather and Bryan Wolfe and is on track to graduate from Purdue University with a degree in agricultural economics and political science.
She says the internship has given her a close-up view of state government in action.
As part of her internship, Wolfe helps staff committee hearings and floor sessions while also responding to constituent calls, letters, and emails.
Representative Borders says interns like Wolfe play an important role during the session and gain valuable skills for their future careers.
The Indiana House offers paid internships each year to college students and recent graduates.
Meanwhile, Borders was the guest on the most recent episode of Meet Your Legislator on Vincennes PBS. He talked about property tax reform, education funding and other statehouse issues of interest.
