A Knox County woman is facing multiple charges following a crash Tuesday afternoon that left a man hospitalized.
Deputies responded to Old U.S. 41 at Fort Knox Road on June 17 for a two-vehicle crash with injuries. A 70-year-old man was transported to the hospital, and the other driver, identified as 33-year-old Kayla Wilson, was questioned at the scene.
According to the sheriff’s office, Wilson’s 2008 Mercedes crossed the centerline and collided with the victim’s 2003 Toyota 4Runner. Deputies say Wilson appeared impaired and later tested positive for methamphetamine.
She was treated at the hospital, then taken to the Knox County Jail. Wilson faces charges including operating while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana. Authorities say she has a previous OWI from 2022.
Wilson remains in jail on a $5,000 bond. The male driver was admitted to the hospital for observation.
