hot-weather-1

Summer arrives with the summer solstice  this weekend and along with it, a dangerous stretch of heat. A Heat Advisory is in effect from Saturday afternoon through Tuesday evening.  Heat index values could reach up to 103 degrees each day.

The high temperatures and humidity can increase the risk of heat-related illness, including heat stroke. Warning signs include a body temperature over 104 degrees, hot or dry skin, confusion, slurred speech, or even loss of consciousness.

Health officials advise limiting outdoor activity, drinking plenty of fluids, and checking on neighbors. If someone shows signs of heat stroke, move them to a cool place and call 911 immediately.
