The Bicknell Freedom Bash returns Saturday offering a full evening of entertainment, food, and fireworks at the Knox County Fairgrounds.
Now in its 19th show, the annual celebration is set to begin with live music. Organizer Terry Stremming says the event has grown over two decades into a major community tradition.
“We have the VU pavilion there that we have a band in,” Stremming said. “And this year we’re going to have a band called Supermatic. They’re a local band here. And then we’ll have Dino’s Concessions—he’s from here in Vincennes. We’ll have Shake Ups lemonade stand there, and the North Knox area has Backpack Blessings there. They’ll be selling their homemade ice cream.”
Concessions will be available before the music begins, and fireworks are scheduled for around 10 p.m. The event is held the weekend before the Fourth of July to avoid conflicts with nearby shows in Vincennes and Washington.
Organizers are already planning for a special 20th anniversary celebration in 2026 and are accepting donations to help support next year’s show. Updates and information can be found on the Bicknell Freedom Bash Facebook page.
