A Silver Alert was issued overnight for a Knox County woman.

Indiana State Police report that the Knox County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the disappearance of 54-year-old Melissa Myers of Bicknell.

She is described as a white female, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 180 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen driving a black Mini Cooper with an unknown Missouri temporary plate.

Authorities believe Myers is in extreme danger and may need medical assistance.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to call the Knox County Sheriff’s Office at 812-882-7660 or dial 911.

Deputies say they were called to North Main Street in Bicknell on Saturday evening after Melissa’s nephew, Timothy Fagan, reported her missing. He told deputies he had not seen her in about 36 hours.

According to investigators, Myers left a note on Saturday, July 12, saying she was going to Hobby Lobby in Vincennes to apply for a job. She was last seen driving a black Mini Cooper with a soft top and an unknown Missouri temporary paper plate.

Deputies attempted to ping her phone, but it was offline. They also checked local motels and used the Flock camera system — a network of license plate readers — to search for her vehicle but had no success.

Indiana State Police were then contacted to issue the Silver Alert.
