Mandy Haag has been named Interim Dean of Vincennes University’s College of Science, Engineering, and Mathematics. She takes over for Curt Coffman, who has accepted a position with the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish.
A Vincennes native, Haag has been a full-time faculty member at VU since 2012, teaching business mathematics and college algebra. She became Mathematics Department Chair in 2019 and has advised students in pre-veterinary programs as well as at the Student Success Center.
Interim Provost Jaci Lee Lederman says Haag’s commitment to students and her long history at the university make her the ideal choice for the role.
Haag says she hopes to continue showing that women can be an integral part of all STEM fields and that hard work, grit, and determination make anything possible.
Her education career began in 1999, and she has taught at both Vincennes Rivet and New Harmony High Schools before joining VU in 2004.
