Bicknell’s annual Heritage Days Festival returns this week, with events beginning Wednesday at North Knox Primary School.

The highlight of opening night is the Miss Bicknell Pageant, where five contestants will compete for the crown. The competition begins at 7 p.m. and focuses on qualities such as leadership, community involvement, and spreading kindness and Hoosier hospitality.

In addition to the pageant, the popular mini king and queen contest continues. Community members have been voting for their favorites by placing donations in boxes at local businesses. The winners will be announced during Wednesday evening’s program.

Another tradition of the evening is the naming of Bicknell’s Man and Woman of the Year. Nominations were accepted between August 7 and August 20, and the recipients will be recognized during the opening night events.

Heritage Days celebrates the Labor Day holiday with activities for all ages including food, a car show, fireworks and more.
