The Family Health Center’s fourth annual Dancing with the Vincennes Stars fundraiser drew a full house this week at the Highland Woods Community Center, marking its most successful event to date.

Proceeds benefit the Wabash Valley Friendship Clubhouse, which provides a safe, supportive environment for people living with serious mental illness.

This year’s competition featured four individuals and two couples performing two routines each. When the final votes were counted, Lara Dawson was named grand champion, while Margaret and Jared Hatteberg won the People’s Choice Award. Organizers reported a record year for participation, including the highest number of votes ever cast on event night.

Spokesperson Cher Wehrman told First City News that final fundraising totals have not yet been determined.
