Vincennes University is partnering with Marian University to expand educational opportunities in Indianapolis’ Near Northwest Area. The universities are working together on the Riverside Education Innovation District, which will transform the former Larue Carter campus into a center for literacy, early childhood education and workforce training.

VU’s role includes opening a career and technical education center that will offer more than 10 programs for high school students. Areas of study will include automotive technology, welding, cybersecurity, law enforcement and other high-demand fields.

The initiative aims to give students in one of the city’s most economically challenged areas a pathway to careers and college credit. Vincennes University expects to begin programming in fall 2027.
